A double-acting cylinder has hydraulic ports on both ends, so oil powers the ram out and powers it back in. That means controlled retraction under load, faster cycle times, and the ability to pull as well as push, no spring required.
When You Need Double-Acting
Choose double-acting for pulling applications, fast repetitive cycles, precise positioning, and any horizontal or overhead work where a return spring can't reliably retract the ram. If the job needs speed and control in both directions, this is the cylinder.
